  • How long is the season?
    October 18, 2022 to end of February/early March 2023
  • When and where are practices?
Practices will be held at Chinook Middle School on Tuesdays and Thursday. 4th, 5th & 6th grades will practice 5:45pm-7:15pm and 7th & 8th grades will practice 7:15pm-8:45pm.
  • When are the regular games?
Regular Season Games will be played locally on Saturdays and Sundays. The season schedule will come out before Thanksgiving. Our first game will most likely be the first weekend of December.
  • Are there additional weekend tournaments?
BGSB teams will play in 2-3 tournaments each season (in addition to regular ETL end of season league tournament). Tournaments can take up a full weekend. Specific tournament dates will be determined by the coaches aiming for state-qualifying tournaments early in the season. Most tournaments are played at local area schools.
  • Where is the end-of-year tournament?
The BGSB teams attend their final tournaments of the season with the ETL local Tournament. This tournament is typically held on the 1st and 2nd weekends in March.
  • What are the fees?
The up-front fee per-player is estimated to be $750-$900 for the season. Fees are to be paid online through Teamsnap. A link will be sent via email once you accept your spot on the team. Fees are due before practice starts.
  • Are scholarships available?
Yes. Players will not be excluded from this program due to an inability to pay the fees. Partial scholarships are available, at the discretion of the Board, to those athletes and their families who are unable to assume the cost of participation. Arrangements will be kept confidential. For information, please contact Chauntelle Johnson at chauntellejohnson@yahoo.com
  • What are the parent responsibilities?
Parents must get their players to and from practices, games, and tournaments on time. In addition, parents may be expected to devote some time to fund-raising activities as needed throughout the season. Parents are also responsible to uphold our league’s standard code of conduct. Additional information on this will be shared prior to our first games.
  • What are the playing time expectations?
Playing time is determined by each coach and it will not be equal for every player, nor will it be equal for every game. Our coaching philosophy is our players need to be playing in game situations to continue to develop and our coaches will manage rosters accordingly.
  • Can players play other sports during the BGSB season?
Yes. We recognize that players of this age are frequently involved with other sports or activities and encourage the development of well-rounded athletes. During January to March we ask that players prioritize basketball over other sports and activities. Players who miss practices and/or games (at all times during the year) may see their playing time decrease in subsequent games.
